Run Club Menlo Park Fall Season 2026 Registration Notes

Please read the important notes below about Fall Season 2026 and then follow the link to registration.

No payments are due until August 15th at which time you will receive a payment request by email.

Practice Schedule:
• Location: Encinal Elementary School track/field: 195 Encinal Ave, Atherton CA
• First Day of Practice: Monday, August 31st
• Available Practice Days (any 2): Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays 3:15-4:45pm.
• Kids from non-Encinal schools (e.g. Hillview, Oak Knoll, Laurel, etc.) may arrive by 3:30 and not miss any running.
• If participants are unable to arrive by 3:40pm, this program will not be a good fit for your child as we are already in workout by then especially later in the season.
• Mid-Season Break Week (No Practices): 10/12-10/16. Runners will be assigned running to do on their own that week.
• Season fees include race fees for end of season 5K.
• For some races, a USATF Youth Membership may be required (Cross-Country) = ~$40
• Last Day of Practice: Friday, November 20th.

** An Important Note About Pactice Days
The best days to practice (in order) are • Mon/Wed or Tue/Fri • Mon/Fri. • Next best is Tue/Wed. • Least best is Mon/Tue or Wed/Fri as we do the same workout on Mon/Tue and Wed/Fri, but any two days are allowed - Mon/Tue and Wed/Fri work fine if that's what your child's schedule allows. I hope that makes sense (you may have to read it twice). The day choices will be listed on the registration from.

** An Important Note About Practices
Your runner needs to attend all practices. Doctor, dentist, and other appointments need to be scheduled for other days. We only practice two days a week and in order to make meaningful progress, your runner needs to be there for both days (especially if they would like to do races). We have great flexibility for dual sport athletes who have schedule conflicts, so feel free to reach out to Coach Scott about that if it affects your runner. Some dual-sport athletes only attend one practice per week.

** An Important Note About Advanced Runners (Have Already Done USATF Races)
This fall will be Run Club's 18th season and we have runners who have trained with us for many seasons. Many of these runners are ready to advance their running so we will be offering advanced runners the option to train one extra day each week (3 days instead of 2). Run Club is technically a hydrid after-school/Club program that competes at the local (fun run) and national (USATF club) running level. Getting a third day of training will give your runner a similar amount of training as a formal "Club" runner while still allowing for plenty of rest and staying safe from injury.

** An Important Note About Carpools
Last year we had very good carpools from all MPCSD and other schools, so let me know if you are interested in carpooling and I can help parents organize.

Fall season (10 weeks) is more busy (and more fun) than spring season (8 weeks). Last fall we raced 7 regular season cross-country races, 1 local 5K Turkey Trot, and 2 Junior Olympics races. 32 runners advanced all the way to the Junior Olympics National Cross-Country Championships in Indiana. Run Club was one of only two clubs in the United States to qualify national teams in the four youngest age groups last fall (boys/girls 8U and 9-10's Pacific Association). Racing is 100% optional. Some runners do one 5K, some do a mix, and some do only cross-country because we have all levels of runners on the team from first-time beginners who might do their very first race to advanced racers who have qualified and comnpeted multiple times at the national level.

Run Club Menlo Park is the least expensive after-school program offered at any MPCSD elementary school and the only under $26/hour based on the winter catalog. The per-hour fees have actually gone down compared to Spring Season, but Fall Season is 2 weeks longer. Compared to other USATF youth running clubs, RCMP is ~half the cost (e.g. San Francisco youth running club costs $1,350 for the spring 2026 season). See the comparison below (rates taken from MPCSD/Homeroom online course catalog). We don't even include all the hours we spending coaching at races - We love racing, so that's included free! Run Club is also a Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation Business Partner Sponsor!

Season fees are not due until August 15th (you will receive a payment request by email at that time).
